Trainers aim to equip dogs with life skills and social savvy

ELLSWORTH — Do you have a bad dog or a really, really bad dog? Is your dog like humorist James Thurber’s Muggs in “The Dog That Bit People?” Or do you have a canine trash burglar or a hound that pulls a fast disappearing act? All will be well. Tracy Shaw and Rod Sparkowich of Coastal K9 Dog Training and Consulting Services can help you manage your dog, even if he is really, really bad.

Coastal K9 Welcomes Tracy Shaw

Coastal K9 has experienced tremendous growth in a short time, due in large part to community acceptance and support for top quality dog training services. Rodney Sparkowich, President of Coastal K9 stated, “I am pleased to announce that Tracy Shaw, with her 22 years of dog training expertise, has joined Coastal K9."

Why We Love Our Job

They say if you follow your passion, you'll never work a day in your life! We get to work with wonderful creatures like Twinkle every day. What more can we say?

Top Dog

Three dogs and their owners participated in the four-week  AKC Canine Good Citizen Program taught by Rod Sparkowich of Coastal K9 Consulting. Classes were held at the SPCA of Hancock County and Maine Pet and Aquarium. The program culminated with a 10-part test of the dogs’ skills in public.

Graduation Day!

Coastal K9 Consulting is very fortunate to be able to be testing 3 dogs for their American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen at Maine Pet & Aquarium tomorrow.

Sophie, Jessie James and Vlade will take the 10 item test and need to pass all 10 to earn their CGC Certificates.

Hopefully they will be able to calm their humans nerves enough so they can pass!

We are doing this at Maine Pet & Aquarium so as to also help draw interest to the Dog Park under construction. Got to go look for a mortar board!
